Decent Work and Economic Growth

INTRODUCTION

Decent Work and Economic Growth

Join the Sudhan Educational Conference (SEC UK) and become part of our mission for inclusive and sustainable economic growth. We believe that economic progress should benefit everyone and not come at the expense of our planet or human rights. We strive to create decent and fulfilling jobs, eradicate modern slavery and child labour, and ensure that entrepreneurship and innovation benefit all.

SEC UK actively supports community-based projects that foster educational and socio-economic development, generating sustainable benefits for local communities. Aligned with SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, we have set the following objectives and will undertake various activities and projects:

  1. SEC Enterprise Mentoring Programme: We invite individuals with expertise in specific fields to join our mentoring groups. Through mentoring, we aim to prepare young people for future jobs and equip them with the skills they need to succeed. By sharing your knowledge and experiences, you can help shape the next generation of professionals.

  1. Support for Local Economic Growth: We encourage individuals to contribute to local economic regeneration by actively buying from local producers and businesses. By supporting local enterprises, we can strengthen communities and promote sustainable economic development.

  1. Campaign for Equal Pay and Decent Work: We advocate for equal pay for work of equal value, striving for full and productive employment and decent work for all. This includes promoting equal opportunities for women, men, young people, and persons with disabilities. Together, we can work towards a fair and inclusive labour market.

  1. End Child Labour: We are dedicated to eradicating child labour. SEC UK actively participates in initiatives aimed at taking immediate and effective measures to eliminate forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, and the worst forms of child labour. We stand united in our commitment to protect the rights and well-being of vulnerable children.

By joining SEC UK, you can actively contribute to our efforts in promoting inclusive economic growth and dignified employment. Together, we can build a future where entrepreneurship flourishes, labour rights are respected, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Take action today and join the Sudhan Educational Conference.

The SEC UK collaborates with the Sudhan Educational Conference (SEC) and other community-based organisations in AJK. We will ensure that appropriate resources and infrastructure are in place to achieve the identified goals and targets for achieving the SEC UK’s vision and mission in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
